I loved this series! It was a fun historical romance fiction, having lots of turns throughout the story.
April is a rich spoiled daughter of a cattle baron in Colorado, that's trying to get to Lewistown Montana to attend her brother Josh's wedding. From Billings Montana she must take a stage coach, a two day drive. April is rude and cantankerous to all she meets, then the stage breaks a wheel and then the story gets fun. April wanted an adventure and boy does the storyline give her one.
Wes is a frugal lonely horse trainer. He's been trying to make changes in his life, finding God, trying to be better. When he's out training a horse for someone else before his friends wedding, his and Aprils paths cross. The sparks begin to fly.
The story is full of twists, and with Aprils colorful character your not sure how it will end. Her true character begins to emerge as she's tested. As she becomes nicer bringing God back into the front of her life and even becoming a hero the other characters begin to love her. Yes there is a romance, but I don't want to give it away.
The author has a great talent for pulling you in to each of the characters lives. I ended this great book wanting to know more about what happens in each characters life.

I really liked this book. The storyline kept my interest, and I fell in love with the characters. The author has a way with making the characters come alive! Great read!
Enjoyed reading about April and Josh 's. adventures in Montana. Good story line. Love to read books that are sprinkled with Christian values and have happy endings. Enjoyed reading about all the people in This little town in Montana . So happy Wes involved into a good man with some tips on proper social etiquette from Josh and the love of a special lady. I like Maggie Brendan's writing style.
I really liked this book, really like Brendan. I have read several of her books now and loved them all. Really brigs the west alive.
I have spent the past week reading the three books so far in this series, beginning with "No Place for a Lady", followed by "Jewel of His Heart," and now this book. The author has made Lewistown, Montana come alive with her wonderful descriptions of the land and people. This story in some ways is my favorite of the three books, as it shows how people can change/there is good in everyone! If you are not a ready of historical westerns, give this series a try--I am so glad I did! It is a light Christian romance, too, without being preach-y! Maggie Brendan has become my newest favorite author! Now if I didn't have to wait for the 4th book... (Thank you, too, to the author for making this available on the .)
This is the continuing saga located in my hometown of Lewistown, Montana. This is the third book of the series and I loved it. Maggie Brendan has taken each main character from book 1 and wove them into their own stories. It's a fun read and one that I can appreciate. The landscape and history of Lewistown and Utica is right up my alley. I love the story and the characters. This has become one of my favorite series of books. I'll have to see if there is a #4. I enjoyed and recommend to all Christian romance readers. Nicely done.
April McBride is a woman of courage and great character, who travels on her own to Montana to attend her brother's wedding. She is one of those characters who grows on you. Because she is so different from those around her it takes a very astute Miss Margaret to see the wonderful, warm and loving person who abides in the spoiled little girl disguise.

Her broken heart has left her weary of the male sex and her unorthadox dress, manner and ability with horses makes her a bit of a stretch for romance. However, a horse trainer who needs a good woman can see through to the inner woman and a romance flares to life.

It is a great story and I believe that you will find it as entertaining as I did. Read and Enjoy
A love Of Her Heart is a really sweet Christian romance novel that stars April as it's main female character and Wes as the main male main character. April comes to her brother's wedding in Montana, I believe that is the correct place, and decides to stay a while till her brother and his new wife get back from their honeymoon which gives her enough time to get to know Wes but she doesn't like him at first because her dad would not approve of him because he is not rich and doesn't own much land. April must decide if she is going to follow what she wants for her life or what her dad wants for her life. April boards at a boarding house and the nice older lady that owns it helps April along the way to help her decide what to do about Wes. This is a really sweet touching Christian romance novel and it is a good relaxing read and I enjoyed it and I would recommend it.
